The chair is inspired from geometric abstract art , which depends on using geometric shapes in making the form of the chair, the straight line in the back of the chair makes the client feel powerful and strong, the curved line in the seating area if the chair makes the client feel containment and relaxing, so the mixture between the curved lines and the straight lines combines all the client requirements on the design , also the brown color of the cork makes the chair stable and big, and the orange color on the drawer is making a contrast with the brown , but the designer used the white in the back which is a neutral color , it put some harmony to break the contrast between the color, which achieves the philosophy of the abstract geometric art.
The design is made from cork material which is a natural material also known for its elasticity, buoyancy and near impermeability. Cork is also very light and ranks highly for its insulation properties, making it a great material to use around the home. It is a100 percent natural material that is obtained through an environmentally friendly harvesting process. Cork trees are not cut down to harvest the cork. Instead, the bark is harvested by hand every nine years. Cork trees can live up to 300 years, which means they can be harvested about 33 times during their lifespan. The cork’s processing is relatively straightforward — even waste scraps are collected for use.
